LOVE

Love is by far the most powerful weapon mankind can possess. It is the only thing that can crush hate, bring true unity, and insight change.

How can we say that we love all when we allow hate and prejudice to reign so prominently in our own cultures for such a long time. I think we are confusing love with ignorance. Love is not kindness, kindness is a part of love. It is not enough to be kind to a person of another race but ignore the very blatant fact that they are being persecuted. Why have we, for such a long time, been ok with the fact that discrimination is reigning? Why have we acted like it wasn't happening? Why haven't we moved? We wouldn't want it for ourselves, why is it ok for it to happen to others?

We can no longer use the excuse that we don't realize what is going on. We've all seen it and it makes us very uncomfortable. If a member of your family was subjected to an ounce of what the African Amerian community is subjected to every day, for centuries, we would not be still and we most certainly would not be silent. SO DON'T BE SILENT. Lift up your voices. If you are of a race that has faced discrimination, share your battle scars. Don't hide. Don't be quiet. Rise. Love. Don't try to fight fire with fire, fight hatred with love. Don't give up. Love wins.

I’ve had a difficult time knowing when to say something and when not to but, over the past few days, I’ve realized that I'm helping absolutely nobody by saying nothing. I would rather have someone disagree with what I say than not say anything at all and be a part of the problem.

We’re fighting fire with fire. Violence with violence. It sucks because there are so many people who are trying to protest peacefully and they are being grouped in with the riots. I want to speak to us peaceful protesters. DO NOT STOP. You are the ones who will insight change, open eyes, and change the world. Do not be quiet. Where you see someone fighting with violence, fight with love. Don’t get me wrong, the anger, the hatred, I understand it. I am furious. But just like how we can’t put out a fire with more fire, we can’t put out violence with more violence. Everything can always be summarized with love. Love, love, love, love, love. When someone is hateful towards you, love. It drives people CRAZY when you keep on getting back up. Don’t stop loving. Fight for change, for equality. Stay safe.
